Description of a design

On cars of the VAZ-2106 models the trekhvalny four-speed transmission is installed. The VAZ-21065-00 and VAZ-21065-01 cars are equipped with the five-step boxes made on the basis of four-stage. Both units are interchanged and the majority of their details are identical.

The transmission consists of a case and the back cover cast from aluminum alloy and connected by hairpins to nuts. From below the case is closed by a steel stamped cover which fastens ten nuts on hairpins. In a case on rolling bearings primary, secondary and intermediate shaft are mounted. Their kosozuby gear wheels (except transfer of a backing) have continuous gearing. The main shaft leans the forward end on the bearing installed in a bent shaft of the engine and has vents on which the conducted clutch plate "sits".

In boring of a main shaft the roller bearing of a secondary shaft is placed. The intermediate shaft is executed in the form of the block of gear wheels and established on two-row ball and cylindrical roller bearings. Inclusion of a backing is carried out by movement of an intermediate gear wheel on its axis in gearing with pryamozuby gear wheels of intermediate and secondary shaft. Gear wheels of transfer of a backing are placed in a back cover of a case. Here gear wheels of the V transfer (in a five-step box) and screw gear wheels of the drive of a speedometer are located.

Transfers of the forward course join by means of couplings with inertial synchronizers. The mechanism of switching consists of forks with rods. The included transfers are fixed by the sprung balls entering holes of rods. The impossibility of inclusion of two transfers is at the same time provided with blocking crackers.

The transmission refuels gearbox oil in number of 1,35 l. For filling and discharge of oil traffic jams with the self-condensed conic carving serve. The drain stopper screwed in the lower cover has a magnet for catching of metal products of wear of mechanisms of a box inside. The ends of primary and secondary shaft are condensed with rubber cuffs.
