16.15.1.2. Index of level of fuel

The index of level of fuel (UK-193 type) works together with the BM-150 sensor installed in the fuel tank. The sensor is executed in the form of a rheostat from a nikhromovy wire. The mobile contact of a rheostat moves the float lever. On the end of the lever there is an additional contact closing a signaling device lamp chain when in a tank there are 4–6,5 l of fuel.

Serviceability of the sensor of the index of level of fuel can be checked an ohmmeter.

The arrow of the device constantly shows a full tank

At the included ignition we disconnect a pink wire from the sensor. If the arrow returns to the beginning of a scale – the sensor is faulty. Otherwise or the device is faulty, or the wire is closed on "weight". For check we remove a combination of devices (see Removal of a combination of devices), we disconnect from the index a gray wire with a red strip and we include ignition. If the arrow returned to the beginning of a scale – the index of level of fuel is serviceable, and the wire is damaged.

At the included ignition we disconnect a wire from a conclusion of "T" of the sensor and we connect it to "weight". If the arrow deviates – the sensor is faulty. If the arrow did not deviate, we remove a combination of devices (see Removal of a combination of devices) and we disconnect from a conclusion of the index of level of fuel a gray wire with a red strip and we connect it to "weight". If the arrow deviated – the device is serviceable, and the wire between the sensor and the index of level of fuel is damaged.
