16.14.1. Engine cooling system electric fan

Scheme of turning on of the electric motor of the fan of the cooling system of the engine

On a part of cars for an obduv of a radiator of the cooling system air provided the electric fan. It joins at operation of the sensor switch 37101B installed in the lower part of the right tank of a radiator. Earlier food on the electric motor of the fan moved via the relay. In this case TM-108 temperature sensor was used. Now the scheme of the electric fan is simplified and power supply of the electric motor is made directly through contacts of the sensor switch. The sensor non-demountable – in case of malfunction is subject to replacement.

The ME-272 electric motor (or to it similar) – a direct current with excitement from permanent magnets. It is established in the casing fixed on radiator arms. At operation the electric motor of service does not demand, faulty is subject to replacement.

The engine overheats, the electric fan does not turn on.

For check of the electric motor of the fan we give on electric motor conclusions tension 12B from the rechargeable battery – the serviceable engine will start working.

For check of the sensor of temperature of the electric fan, having disconnected wires from temperature sensor, we connect them among themselves at the included ignition. If the fan starts working – the sensor is faulty.

Having connected an ohmmeter to conclusions of the sensor and having lowered it at the carving length water, the thermometer we take temperature of inclusion and switching off of the sensor. For this purpose we heat water almost to boiling, and then we control cooling. At the serviceable sensor the temperature characteristic should not differ from given above.
